Brrrrrr!

It's very cold here today. Of course I left the house this morning in a 3/4 length shirt and just a light fleece jacket. It's actually gotten colder as the day has gone on. I've had to break down and turn on the heat just to get the chill out of the house. I can't believe it--we never even really had a fall, just straight to winter.

One positive about cold weather is it makes me feel very domestic. I'm making potato soup again tonight with PW's cheddar biscuits. I'm going to tweak the biscuit recipe to make it taste more like Red Lobster's like I discussed last time. I'll let you know how it goes.

Our anniversary celebration weekend turned out to be a bust. Looks like the problem with not making plans is that it's very easy to cancel your not-made plans for something else. We ended up going to the lake on Saturday so Mr could winterize the boat. It's supposed to be in the 20's for about 4 nights this week down there so he was concerned about it. We made a quick trip down and came back home early yesterday morning. Mr has a cold so he was pretty wiped out all weekend. I guess we'll wait to celebrate big on our 1st year anniversary. We have talked about going to Italy to visit the boy child but if we don't plan it, it will be another thing that doesn't get done!

On a related note, since we're getting into cold and flu season, check your cold remedies for expiration dates. We have about 4 bottles of Nyquil and the Kroger equivalent and I think all of them are expired since Feb or just expired in Oct. They probably won't kill you--just make you sicker!
