So I came home and made my wonderful little salad, baked the bread and proceeded to have a wonderful little dinner...at about 4 p.m. I had skipped lunch so I was hungry. After dinner, I emailed my best girl, Bean, and asked her if she wanted to have a glass of wine with me later...via the phone, of course. She had some errands to run but was going to join me, in a couple of hours. In the meantime, I decided to go ahead and pop the top.
In my effort at trying to get more physical activity, I thought it would be fun to get the Wii going. I proceeded to play tennis, baseball, and bowling but what I really wanted to do was rock.
I popped in the AC/DC DVD and began the singing part. Of course, since I know so many of their songs backwards and forwards, I decided to try the "expert" version of "You Shook Me All Night Long". Now the expert version is faster, plus this particular DVD was recorded live so they don't sing the songs exactly like they do on the CDs which I've sung for years. The long and short of it is I was booed off the stage twice. I am happy to report that I did successfully perform the "hard" version, though, so I quit with my pride in tact and my AC/DC knowledge still reigning supreme.
I moved on to the drums. Every time I've tried the drums before, I have sucked royally. Since I was here by myself--no audience, no pressure--I was determined to get it right this time. Did I mention I was about halfway into the bottle of wine? After I'd played a few songs, Bean called and I talked her ear off, telling her all of my day's adventures and of course, about my life on tour. Mr also called somewhere in the middle of all this and he also got to enjoy my tales.
I am happy to report that I did pretty darn good on the drums. Turns out, AC/DC is pretty easy to play the drums to, especially when you know the songs as well as I do. Did I mention that I finished that bottle of wine as I was talking to Bean? Did I also mention that I have a killer headache this morning that I'm trying to cure with coffee and advil?
It will be a good thing when Mr gets home.
