--Yesterday we finally connected with the boy child via Skype. In total, we were on with him for 4 hours. The cool part is it's free so it doesn't matter how long you're on. The even cooler part is we get to see him, his apartment, his Italian cutie. Technology rocks!
--Mr drove my car over to the office last night to get spare keys for some bozo who lost his. When he did, he skidded my car into a boulder in the driveway at the office wrecking the crap out of the passenger side of my front bumper.
The pink color you're seeing in the last 2 pictures has nothing to do with the wreck--that's my robe reflecting off the bumper! Who knew a plastic bumper could be so reflective.I'm so glad Mr wasn't hurt and didn't hit another car or a tree going at breakneck speed. He just couldn't stop going down the incline. Now begins the repair process...which sucks. But, like I said, it could've always been worse and thankfully, it wasn't.
--Today is Martin Luther King, Jr day. They are broadcasting his entire "I Have a Dream" speech on CNN at noon today. I'm really looking forward to watching it because, like most of us, I've only heard bits and pieces of it. What little I know of MLK, I think he was a wonderful person whose only interest was to try to make sure that all human beings are treated with respect and dignity. When I think of the civil rights movement and what so many people went through, it makes me sick how heartless and cruel human beings can be toward one another. It was indeed a horrible time in our history and thankfully one that is indeed, in our past.
--Mr and I had dinner at 4:30 on Saturday. I think we are indeed acting like senior citizens. In our defense, we had an excuse. We were downtown at the boat show and had gift certificates that he's had for quite a while for a downtown restaurant. They had a special that was only available between 4 and 6 pm. Since we went through the show pretty fast, 4:30 was a good time for us to eat. Furthermore in our defense, there were several other tables of people there who were younger than us who actually got there at 4, so there! Besides which, we were hungry.
--Mr makes awesome chili. Yesterday he made a big potful and the kids came over to watch the UK game. We all pigged out on the chili. Yum, yum.
I guess that's all the topics I'm thinking about right now, at least all the ones I want to share because I'm tired of typing.
