Weekend Warrior...not!

Sorry I wasn't such a good blogger over the weekend. Boy child left to go back to Italy on Saturday morning and we had one last hurrah on Friday night that lasted until 4:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. Yes, you would think I was old enough to know better than to stay out that late, but apparently I wasn't. Getting up later on Saturday morning to take him to the airport was no fun for any of us, especially him! Needless to say, Mr and I hardly moved from the couch and the recliner on Saturday. Yesterday was better, but when you stay up that late at our age, it takes a couple of days to get caught up. Thankfully I didn't drink a ton or it would've been even worse.

I've been working diligently trying to get Grandma's pictures scanned in for her video. I have 25 albums that my aunt loaned me so it's been time-consuming going through each and every one of them to choose pictures. I have one more box of albums to go through and then I'll be done. I have had such a ball going through them, though.

It has inspired me to get my own photos in order. I thought I was doing pretty good on keeping my pictures organized, but my aunt is super organized--each album by year and just the fact that they're all in albums. Now I have a new project to work on that I've been wanting to do for quite a while.

I haven't been doing much cooking lately, although if I don't have to work tonight, I'm making dinner since I have some new recipes I want to try. I did make hamburgers last week that were super yummy. They were BBQ burgers and had BBQ sauce in them. There were other ingredients, but they were so moist and yummy. I've also been visiting my favorite store, Hobby Lobby. We needed a centerpiece for our coffee table that sits low enough that we can still see the tv. Since these usually cost a fortune, I decided I would make one myself. The key is to go to HL when things are half off. They run sales every single week. If silk flowers aren't on sale this week, they will be next week. Plus, I'm signed up for their email notifications so I get sent a 40% off a regular-priced item coupon most weeks as well. While I was at work last night, Mr was busy. Here is our new end table that he put together.
