Christmas shopping

Yesterday I knocked out a lot of Christmas shopping that we needed to do. I am not usually someone who can go to multiple stores in one trip. I get tired and aggravated, but yesterday I actually went to several stores in a 4-hour period and got several people's gifts. I really want to be done shopping soon. Hopefully I'm on track to do that. I'm going to get some of them wrapped today before I go to work so I can get that out of the way, too. It always seems I wait until the last minute to wrap and then I'm super aggravated by that.

Speaking of gifts, do you like receiving gift cards as presents? People seem to feel strongly either way about this question. I personally love getting gift cards. That way, I can get my shopping fix, get what I want and not spend any "real" money doing so. Also, if you get gift cards, you can hold them until all of the super after-Christmas sales and get double what you would've gotten with the same amount of money before Christmas. It's a win/win to me. People on the other side of the fence, though, see gift cards as thoughtless and impersonal. Their thinking is that someone didn't take the time to pick out the "perfect" gift and instead, just plopped some money down and got a gift card equaling a thoughtless gesture. I strongly disagree. So just in case any of you out there are wondering what to get me for Christmas or my birthday...a gift card is the perfect fit!
