What's going on in my world

I noticed that recently I haven't been doing any posts about what's actually going on in my life. I've mostly been posting just pictures. One reason for that is that I love my new camera and am looking for any opportunity to take pictures and when I do, I want to share them. The other reason is there really isn't a lot else going on.

I went from working every day to not having worked in a little over a week, with no real hope of working in the next 2 weeks either. After Christmas, our hours were drastically cut. It always happens after Christmas, but last year we had pretty many hours all the way through January. I'm guessing that our hours got cut earlier this year because of the economy the way it is. Thankfully I've had the 2 shoots to keep me somewhat occupied, but that appears to have dried up as no new ones are on the horizon. Having too much time on my hands is not good for me--mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually--you name it.

I have been looking for a job. I'd love to get one that could incorporate my newly rekindled love for photography. A friend suggested being a photographer at one of those photography studios. You know, the free standing stores like Portrait Innovations or somewhere similar. I know it's not the kind of photography I'd like to do, but it would get me some experience and most importantly, get me out of the house with something to occupy my creative side...kinda. It seems ridiculous to be wondering what I want to be when I grow up at 41 years old, but that's where I am.

I listened to a loooooooong monologue from my hairdresser the other day about what he thinks I should do. He went into great detail about how I could grow this business that he thinks I should get in to. He had some good ideas, but I'm not sure I want to go that route. Nevertheless, if anyone needs career advice, he seems to be full of it.

I have enrolled in a photography class that starts at the end of January to learn more about my camera and photography in general. I'm really looking forward to that starting.

So that's a little of what's going on in my "real" life. Of course, I always have my skills as a burgeoning rock star legend to fall back on.
