What a long, strange trip it's been...

I'm baaaack! I bet you thought I was never going to do another post, didn't you? I was starting to think the same thing.

2 weeks ago Mr and I embarked on our journey to Washington...Seattle was our first destination. Mr had work to do out there the first week so I spent the week in the hotel. We had barely landed in Seattle when we got news that a dear family friend had passed away. He was very sick when we left and we knew he would probably pass while we were gone, but had no idea it would happen so fast. It's awful being away when you want to be home. Nevertheless, there was nothing we could do about it.

We did get to do one day of sightseeing in Seattle and we made the best of it.

The Mrs and Mr's Big Adventure

Mr and I are off for a long--relatively speaking--trip tomorrow. I'm going to keep it a secret as to our location, but rest assured, there will be many pictures when I return. I hope to be able to blog some while I'm away since the first part of the trip Mr will be there for work and the last part is for vacay. That means I will have lots of down time in the beginning of the trip! Oh, my kingdom for a laptop!!

Last week I told you about the semi-annual sale that started at Bath and Body Works and the foam burst that you simply had to run out and buy immediately. Today I wanted to let you in on another little gem I discovered. This lotion is ahhh-mazing. The scent takes you right to the islands without smelling like suntan oil and the moisturizing effect lasts for hours. Last week it was half off and it may even be cheaper this week...if you can find it! Our store sold out of it quickly so check your local store. You won't be disappointed!

Save the drama for your mama

After our last visit to the lake 2 weeks ago, I alluded to some drama that was going on down there. I didn't want to get into the gorry details, not so much because I was trying to be private, but really because it's all so juvenile and petty. This weekend produced way less drama of the confrontational type, but lots of stuff was brought to light that got me thinking about people, the things they do and why they do them. By comparing notes with some other people, we discovered that there is someone down that is telling lies of the whopper size variety.

In case you didn't know this about me, I hate liars. I guess no one likes them, but to me, there is nothing worse than a liar. Period. And for me, once you lie to me, I don't believe a thing that comes out of your mouth from thereon out. Period. In thinking about liars, the one word that came to me is "integrity" and their lack of it. It is so important to me to surround myself with people who have high integrity. Mr's integrity is one his attributes that made me fall in love with him. If he says he's going to do something, he does. If he gives you his word, he means it. If he tells you something, it's the truth. There's no guessing what his ulterior motives are or if he's trying to manipulate. He has a lot of integrity in both his personal and business lives.

I found the little chart up above just a minute ago in google images. It really does capture the definition of "integrity". So, why do people lie? I guess I could write a HUGE post about it and depending on the lie, the motive changes. I'm trying to figure out why this person is lying to so many people and making themselves out to be so much different than they really are. I should feel sympathy toward them, I guess, since they are so afraid to really be themselves, but what I feel is mostly anger. I was duped into believing them and trusting them. Now they've proven themselves to be untrustworthy and it makes me angry...and very sad.

Bath and Body Works started their semi-annual sale on Monday. After waiting for at least 3 sales--that's about a year and a half--they have finally brought back one of my all-time favorite products--Foam Burst. If you haven't tried this little beauty, the time is now. A lot of people use the stuff for shaving their legs, but I love to use it all over. It makes my skin feel so soft. Today is the last day to get a bottle for $4. You must run out and buy all they have--or at least 3 or 4 bottles. You won't be disappointed.

BIG news!

Well, I've done it, officially done it. I've launched my photography company--Sweet Daisy Photography! I am so jacked up you can't believe it. Every day I wake up with new ideas and new things to accomplish. I've also officially launched a new blog that is strictly about photography--www.sweetdaisyphotography.blogspot.com I hope you check it out and become a regular reader of that, too. Not a lot to say

Right now, basically all I do is eat, drink, sleep, think and dream about photography, my business, ideas for my upcoming shoots, how can I get more shoots, what kind of equipment do I still need, blah, blah. The writing I would do on here would only be about that. Since that hasn't been the focus of this blog, I really don't have a lot to say right now. Stay tuned.

Where have I been?

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. There's so much to say and nothing to say all at the same time. How could that be?

Mr and I had a fun weekend at the lake even though there was a lot of drama. What is it about a group of people, no matter who they are or why they're gathered, that there is always the inclination for conflict and drama? I've seen it happen in every group I've ever belonged to. Nevertheless, I don't want to re-hash all of it here. Suffice it to say, we had fun and thankfully we weren't the ones in the middle or causing the drama.

Tonight the girl child and I are going to brainstorm for names for my business. Mr is out of town working so I am baching it again for a couple of days. I hope by the end of tonight I will officially have a cool name.

Maybe I'll have some photos for you tomorrow. I still haven't downloaded the cool pictures I took from my workshop shoot. Hopefully I'll get to that after work today.
